Hi everyone.

Just a couple of points:

1. If you have any issues that you'd like looked into please email us rather than posting in the comments - it's a lot easier for us to deal with things that way, and please do tell us if something is wrong - we can't try to fix what we don't know about.

2. The postal system is a strange thing. I know some of you are waiting on packages. Unfortunately that's something I'm powerless to fix, and I know it's just as distressing for the people who have sent them and are waiting for them to be received. Please try to be patient. We do have a couple of angels on standby if new packages need to be sent out.

3. I'll be drawing the best treaters on Tuesday night. Any nominations received after then will be added to the list on the blog, but will miss out on the drawing. Sorry. I know it's not perfect, but it's the best I can do.

4. I know this really doesn't apply to most of you, but if you haven't done so yet, please thank your pal. A lot of time goes in to putting together these packages, and it's just polite to say thanks.

Oh! Almost forgot.

5. There will be a round 2. :-) It'll be later in the year, probably sometime around September, October or November. We'll post details up here closer to the time so keep an eye out.

Wow, the 5th came around really quickly didn't it?*

Everyone should have received their packages by now, but I know that there are a few that are either:
a) In transit. Be patient with the postal service.**
b) Almost posted. I know one or two people are waiting for deliveries of things for their treatee.

If your treatee hasn't received their package from you yet could you please let them know that it is on the way and they haven't been forgotten. If you can't contact them please contact one of us so that we can pass it on.

If you have received your package please could you make sure you've let your treater know that it's arrived safe and sound. Of course, I wouldn't need to remind anyone that it's polite to say thank you now, would I?

If you haven't received a package or heard from your treater that it's on the way please let your enabler know so that we can follow up.

Hopefully we won't need any angels to send out an extra package, but just in case, if anyone would like to offer please do and we'll let you know if it's needed.

Phew. A long post this. Just need a sip of my tea...

OK, finally. Nominations for Best Treater will stay open until Friday 10th May.

Thanks a million everyone, the exchange has been great fun and it's been great to see so many wonderful packages!

*Yes, I do know I'm posting this on the 4th.

**As an example, my postie never delivers packages. They're supposed to attempt delivery twice, and leave a card on the 2nd attempt. Instead they hang onto it for a day or two to pretend they've tried, and then leave the card, then I need to go collect it, but it's difficult to get to the collection point and make it to work on time so I can't always go right away. Plus, it's a Bank Holiday here in Ireland and also in the UK (yes, they are completely different countries, you know, like America/Canada, or Australia/New Zealand). This means that in theory while my package may be waiting for me right now I won't find out about it until Tuesday evening, and won't be able to collect it until Wednesday.

Contacting your Pal

If there is anyone out there who has still not contacted their pal by email or by commenting on their blog, can you PLEEEASE remedy this as soon as possible??

There are a few people out there who still havent heard from their treaters and are feeling a little neglected....as you would be if you hadn't heard from your treatee.

Please contact them, this is supposed to be fun for everyone involved!!!

The packages are starting to arrive now (don't panic though, you have until May 5th to get them to your treatee), and there have been some great gifts.

Now, if you think your treater put a really fabulous package together for you, put a comment up on this post so we can see what you were treated with. (blogger users, your profile is fine if your blog address is listed in that, non-blogger users please put your blog address in)

After the exchange is over we'll draw a few people from the nominated treaters for an extra little treat package from us!

Have you contacted your treatee?

Just a reminder that you need to have contacted the person you're treating by now to say hello - this is so we know that everyone's still taking part and can re-assign people if necessary.

If you haven't heard from your treatee let us know and we'll follow up (some people are on holidays and things, so we can check stuff like that out).

Matches

We'll be sending out matches today and tomorrow (there are lots to send so may take a couple of sittings, please be patient!).

What to do then:
Contact the person you're treating to say hello and let them know that they do have a treater.
Don't let them know who you are though - it should be a secret until they get your package!

Some suggestions of how to do this:
Comment anonymously on their blog.
Send them an email from an account that doesn't identify you.
Send them an e-card. (e.g from Hallmark, E-Cards, Lion Brand - make sure you use an anonymous email address for this)

If you can't contact someone anonymously please let us know and we can pass on a message for you. If you'd like a gmail invite so you can set up an anonymous email address then let us know and we'll send you one.

If you haven't heard from the person spoiling you by April 16th please let us know so we can chase up. We want to make sure that everyone gets treated!

We have been having a great time going through some of your blogs, in order to match you up, getting to know you all.
However, it appears that there are still some people who haven't posted their questionnaire.
Either that, or its somewhere that I can't find it.

Could everyone please ensure you post your questionnaire today.

If questionnaires are not posted on your blog by tomorrow, the 4th of April, we will assume that you don't want to be matched, and have pulled out of the exchange.

We have had 140 people (approximately) signing up, from what seems like the four corners of the world! We are a bit gob smacked at the amount of people who signed up really, its great!!

So....we will be in touch between now and the 9th, sending out your matches.

Sign Ups Closed

Sign ups have now closed for the exchange, and with about 140 participants we're going to have to be strict on that. If you've missed out this time don't worry, we'll probably do this again!

For those of you that have signed up please make sure that your questionnaire has been posted to your blog - it's one of the conditions of the exchange that it's up by April 1st.

We're working away on the matches now, and will have your treatee's details to you by 9th April at the latest.

If you're signed up but have changed your mind and no longer want to take part please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can take you out of the exchange.

TWO days to go.....

Oh, we are excited!
There is TWO DAYS until close of sign up's, and we can't believe the response we have gotten so far!
So, for any of you lurkers out there, last day of sign up is Saturday, the 31st of March.

We have been, are, and will be going through all your blogs, matching people up, and you will hear from us by the 9th of April with your matches.

Hope you are all looking forward to it as much as we are!!

Oh, and if you haven't posted your questionnaire, could you please do so as soon as you can, and make sure that it is visible for your treater to see, i.e. not buried under hundreds of posts.
Not that hundreds of posts is a bad thing, it just needs to be easy for them to find.

Of course, your treater will get to know you from posts that you have written as well, so make sure you keep them up!

A very Happy St Patricks day to you for tomorrow.

If you've signed up you'll have received an email from us confirming it - if not, don't worry - there's still plenty of time.

We'll send you out your treatee's details by April 9th.

In the meantime though, it'd help us and your treater (who will be a different person to your treatee) a lot if you'd post up the answers to this questionnaire on your blog. It needs to be posted by April 1st at the latest, so there's no rush, but feel free to put it up whenever you want.

Where's the questionnaire?

It's coming, be patient, oh eager treaters! It's written and ready to go, and we'll post it up a little closer to the closing date.

Do you have a plan for when people flake out on their treatee?

Oh, yes: a big stick!
No, seriously though. The exchange is only for one package - if you don't think you'll be able to manage that please don't sign up.

Occasionally life throws things at us that can't be helped and people may have to withdraw - if you need to drop out for any reason please let us know so we can re-assign people or sort out an emergency rescue package.

Anyone who flakes on their pal and doesn't send a package without letting us know will have their blog* named and shamed here** - be warned!

*Only the blog address - any personal details (real name, mailing address etc.) will only be seen by The Enablers and your Treater and there's absolutely no way we'd post them on a blog, no matter what you did. Promise.

**We will try to contact you first to find out what the story is - this isn't intended to put pressure on people who find themselves in an unexpected crisis, just to embarrass people who receive a package and don't send one out.

The Important Stuff

What's this all about?

This is a one off swap of treats for knitters (crocheters can play too).

The Rules

You must have a blog that has at least 10 posts on it, and you should post to it roughly weekly.
You must be prepared to send things internationally. (If this is a huge problem let us know and we'll try to accomodate you)
You must be over 18, as we'll be giving your address to someone.

As this is a one package swap you do not have to have an anonymous email address - you will be required to contact your pal anonymously but this can be by commenting on their blog.

What to Send

Treats you MUST send:
1. Enough yarn for a one skein/small project
2. Magazine
3. Pampering treat - e.g. Hand cream, bath fizzer etc
4. Delicious treat - e.g. chocolate/candy/tea/coffee
5. Your blog address, so your pal can say hello

The yarn and magazine can be from your stash, but must be in good condition (ratty unlabelled skeins and dog eared magazines wouldn't really be a treat to receive!)
Pampering products must be new and unopened.

Minimum spend: $30 / €27 / £18 not including postage

Other treats you could include:
1. Your favourite recipe
2. A pattern to go with the yarn (please respect copyright)
3. Candles
4. Knitting notions
5. Anything else you'd like to treat your pal with

The Time Line

1. Deadline for sign ups: 31st March
2. Questionnaire posted to your blog by: 1st April
3. Matches distributed by: 9th April
4. Make contact by: 16th April
5. Packages received by: 5th May (Please allow time if posting internationally)
